The Jackson is his too, I'm replacing the volume pot for him because it's flaky. The green Srat, OTOH, I picked up at a pawn shop the other day, and it is definitely for sale. Actually, both strats are for sale. I finally realized that the small frets just aren't my thing, so those will be up in the Trading post soon. $450 plus shipping takes 'em both!:27:
One thing I noticed while going between the 5150's, is that Phil's 5150 is way darker and has more gain than mine? I even had them dialed in with the EXACT same settings, through the same cab. His is darker, with more gain, but not as articulate and defined. Mine is brighter and crunchier, with less gain, but much more articulate and defined. This is all at bedroom levels though, which brings me to my next point. Cranked in the practice shed, the difference is much more apparent. Mine is much crunchier, and has a tighter bottom end, with way more low end punch. He's just sounds a little weak. Is there something obvious that I'm missing? Although he is running his through an Ibanez "Toneblaster" cab!:27: We've got the same tubes and everything, Groove Tubes in the pre and power section. Any thoughts? They both appear to be stock.
