This is coming in this week or next. In case you might recall or not it is the Dean Open House guitar for this year. They make 50 numbered XX/50 and a regular serial numbered Prototype. That usually goes to the person that suggests the eventual guitar design or a member first interested if not member suggested. Interesting points of detail on this Korean made beauty. V shaped neck profile. A new import option for them. USA pickups in fact "the first fifty matched pair", or something like that, of the Time Capsule named pickup model. A 14.2K neck or bridge model. Should be cool. The proto, pictured above, played really well at the open house. I dont recall hearing it plugged in but I figure they are pretty much Dimarzio Super Distortions. That is what was in the Time Capsule model guitars modeled after '78-'79 SD loaded Deans. I have had this ordered since December's announcement and it is actually about 3 weeks early on arrival. In the past they have not even ordered them until February with August arrival. Gonna drive over to Dean HQ and pick it up straight from the joint. This is cool. :cool2: :13:

Re: Dean Goldtop V

that's pretty sweet. i love Dean V's to be certain. I almost scored one like that with a Les Paul-style flame maple top in cherry burst...couldn't get the money in paypal quick enough cuz i hadn't eBay'd in over a year hahaha.

I dunno why Gibson doesn't make more V's with Les Paul appointments. It's obviously a very, very sweet look and Dean's stealin up all their business.

Re: Dean Goldtop V

That's cool, I mean gorgeous.

If it was an Explorer, I'd have a serious financial problem on my hands.

Re: Dean Goldtop V

I was just about to go for one of those when the water bill dropped through the door.

Re: Dean Goldtop V

and once again, USA manufacturers are leaving the foreign buyers in the cold. why? there are 300 million USA residents, and 6.3 billion people in the rest of the world, or which 1.5 billion in china, Korea and japan, and Europe 500 million. again, why leave the rest of the world in the cold? You have no idea what fights I have to have with guys on ebay and other USA-stores when I want to buy something. "wont ship to others except usa!' why? I pay for the goods, I pay for shipping. You're missing out on 6300000000 potential buyers! I dont get it...

Re: Dean Goldtop V

It's sad indeed. But the Goldtop V is one of the best looking Flying V's ever. (though I hate that Dean headstock) With a standard Gibson Flying V-headstock it would be up there with Burst FMT Flying V's.
