Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

Have several Deans. This one's is the best. Great player. Actually sold a USA and kept this one, and I don't even like purple guitars.

Those Korean guitars are incredible bang for your buck. I wish they made the American Hardtails like them. Fat necks, coil splits, & tremelo option.

I've got a Tigerburst Korean & a yellow USA model. Not selling either one.

Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

All you Dean owners that have or have not been down to the open house, come on down! We will have two music nights and plenty of guitars to play.

Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

Several Canadians attend every year. They fly and drive. We have had Holland, U.K., German, and Swedish attendees also.

Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

BTW, I do not work for Dean although I am President of the Dean Owners Association. Duncans and Deans are a great combination. One of my favorites is this 1996 USA V with a JB neck and a Duncan Distortion bridge in it. BlackieV is a killer.

Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

Hey. Been a while since I've been around. Busy with work, family, the band, vacation and life in general. Anyway, this thread caught my eye as I am a newbie Dean owner. I've seen pics and videos of past events and it looks like a fun time. Here's my Dean ML Chicago Standard. The only thing I changed was the pots from the small dime size to full-size Alpha, all linear taper. I absolutely love this guitar. So comfortable to hold and play. The pic of me in the Red Wings jersey is from a gig we did for one of the guy's company. We did a set as our Save Ferris 80's Tribute. Somebody has to be Cameron. :D

:lmao:

"Someone had to be Cameron"

I looked at that pic before I read the caption and said "What kind of Ferris Bueller reject band is this?!?!?!"

Re: Dean Guitar Owners Thread

Hardly rejects. LOL. We've been together a long time and within the last year in the 80's Tribute thing. Getting good response so far as we continue to add material and tweak the show. Last night was awesome. Where we played there was an 80's themed 50th birthday party. A crazy bunch.

Bumping this from the depths to ask a question. Anybody have a Dean Vendetta XM Tremolo? Or know who manufactures them for Dean? They have a familiar serial number format that I've seen on multiple other makes of guitar so I'm trying to find out who built them.

Anyone have any idea? The serial # is of the format:

WSMxxxxxx.xxxx

And can be found on many different makes including Dean, Harley Benton, Indio, J&D, & others.

Anybody have any idea where they're from? Thanks!

It's definitely a factory in China. Which one, I'm not sure. But, it's not World Music or Cor-Tek

There is a Dean ML 79 Floyd at my local shop in white, I have a thing for odd ball offsets like that but just can not get past that giant head stock on it.

"Asia". Wouldn't bother to try to get more specific than that....
