Dean Guitars

What do you guys think of these, i am looking at the 79' ML and the 79' V, i would not be able to play one, are they worth the risk to buy off of music123 or something?, and does any one have clips of dean guitars? preferably for metal-ish and hard rock to blues..... thanks

Hi.

I had a korean made Dean ML-XT and it was an ok guitar. The guitar played ok (probably could've done with a setup) but I could never really get on with the sound of it. I don't know if it may have been because it was a Basswood body and I never learnt to EQ it in right to sound how I wanted it to sound.

I changed the pups to a SH5 Custom in the bridge and a 59' in the neck. It didn't improve things too much for me so in the end I traded it.

I do have a few sound clips that I recorded with this guitar, but the playings rubbish so I don't know if the clips would be of any use to you

i would like to hear the clips, even if the playing isent so great, i am more interested in the tone

Oh and brow the 79' model probably sounds better due to the set neck and mahogany body and AAA flame top, as oppossed to the XT which is bolt on and basswood.
