as much as i like my trans black soltero sl. i ended up liking the sound and neck better on the white soltero standard i had. i ended up sending it back because i could use the money right now. but i preferred the v neck and how the sound was not as bright. i did some reading up and liked the specs and what i have heard about the mhg soltero's so i traded my sl toward one. i just got it today. but so far i like it alot better. it doesnt have the nice paint job or thick maple cap but the black got scratched up too easy and was a pain to keep clean. the biggest upside to me is the unfinished neck. i like them alot better than painted. i have a pearly gates set to go in it. but the dean time capsule pickups sound pretty good.

That neck joint looks awfully big doesn't it? I mean you get the access with the deep cutaway but then that thick neck joint robs it from you?

it is about the same as a les paul. i can actually play these easier on the higher frets.

Those are Badass! CONGRATS!!! I SOOOOO want a Z like that. That is also a completely made in Tampa at Dean guitar. Wood, finish, pickups. Just wait Dean has much more in store for guitar players. I like my Duncans but the Dean USA pickups are happening.

Every time you post one of your Soltero threads I open up two more tabs in Firefox: one to check the balance of my accounts, and a second to look at Solteros on Carlino Guitar's website.

Someday the numbers in the first tab will be bigger than the numbers in the second tab. That day I will have a Soltero.

Nice Soltero. Congrats! I'd like to try one, but the Dean V neck and my CTS don't get along, in fact my USA Dean ML is the guitar that really aggravated /started the condition in the first place

They are great guitars though, and the Soltero is one of two non-Les Paul, Les Pauls that I really dig (the other being the PRS SC)

How would you describe the TC pickups?
