Dean Vendetta XM

Just noticed that the Dean Vendetta XM is available for like $100. Has anyone had any experience with the Dean line? The body is supposed to be made out of Paulownia, a Chinese wood, a new one to me. Would appreciate any input.

Their XM line is their starter guitar el cheapo stuff. Bolt on necks, assembly line stuff. It's the Squier of pointies. You'll get what you pay for.

They are actually really cool guitars for the money. We had a couple at the shop and they sold really fast. It's a great starter guitar or a cheap backup. They actually sounded pretty decent too, although replacing the pickups would improve the tone I'm sure.

I just reread your first post. While the XM's are their starter guitars, the "Dean line" features many levels of great guitars. For my money the really good stuff starts somewhere around their '79 series guitars priced around $500.
