Dean Vs : Kaleidoscope VS Chicago standard gloss Natural

WITH FULL DISTORTION

Hey Guys, hows it going!?!?
I need a hand here regarding some aspects of both DEAN V guitars im presenting here in this thread : Playability, COnfort, tone, and Thickness of the body!

Im torn between the 1 Dean V Chicago standard natural gloss and the 2 Dean Michael Schenker Kaleidoscope V.

1 - has V shaped neck profile (never tried this one. i have a Dean Vendetta 4.0 that has a C shaped neck, that i think is not so confortable . a bit too thick), rosewood fingerboard, and dimarzio super distortion pickups (not that ill use them, ill sell the pickups in BOTH Guitars. thats not an important factor)

2 - has a c shaped neck profile, dean lights out pickups, and Ebony fretboard. (i never owned an ebony fretboard guitar. so besides the graphics on the guitar, the ebony fretboard counts +2 points for me to grab it. only downside here is the C shaped neck profile, that , if its the same as on my Dean Vendetta 4.0 will put the confort/playability factor down for me)

What do you think guys?!?!!?
thank you in advance for the input

If you are in to Picasso then get the kaleidoscope.

Re: Dean Vs : Kaleidoscope VS Chicago standard gloss Natural

Of those two, I'd take the natural. I'm not big on graphics.

Re: Dean Vs : Kaleidoscope VS Chicago standard gloss Natural

I personally like the V shape Dean uses on that line. It kind of keeps your thumb in a natural mid neck position. That and I am a sucker for natural finish guitars of the pointy nature like Dean Vs and Zs and Hamer Standards. Oh and HNGD to be. :headbang:

I absolutely love the dean v necks, but they are different for sure. Try one out before you buy one.

Re: Dean Vs : Kaleidoscope VS Chicago standard gloss Natural

I also am a fan. I'd never tried one before my first USA Dean and I was shocked at how easy it was. When you've got a classical left hand, it gives a good reference point to figure out where to place your thumb to reach different places across the board and when you wrap your whole hand around, it's super comfortable for chording.

Yeah.. im trying to figure out, from people that already played both models, which neck is more confortable.
The kaleidoscope C shape Or the CHicago V shape.

Re: Dean Vs : Kaleidoscope VS Chicago standard gloss Natural

Go for either but don't be afraid of the V profile. Give it a shot and if you don't bond with it, sell it and buy something else.

The problem is those people did not play their Deans with your hands. The Vs and MLs I've played had relatively thick and really sweet playing necks. Still, it's one of those things where you shouldn't rely on others' experience.
