Hi, anyone got any info on Dean Zelinsky Signature SD Pickups? I've found some info on the brdige one with TB-DBZ1B label

http://darthphineas.com/2017/11/dbz-dean-zelinsky-signature/
(the only thing I don't get here is about the magnets, the description says ceramic but the magnets clearly ain't black and look like thick alnico :ninja:)

But can't find anything about the neck modelk SH-DBZ-1n, the only info I got asking SD directly is that the magnet is Alnico 5, the resistance is 7.4k so it should be something in Jazz - 59 range then. I'm really interested about the magnet wire used for it but the one I got is covered and I don't want to remove the cover to check it. Anyone got any info on them?

Re: Dean Zelinsky Signature SD Pickups

Someone had some for sale on here a minute ago, I still regret not snapping them up.

From what I’ve read in other spots on the web the neck was a tweaked 59 and the bridge “hole shot” was an overwound custom with a triple ceramic magnet. They were designated DD-1 and DD-5 which line up with the 59 and custom. Dean refers to these but has them reversed in there press release from a few years back.

I had thought about tracking down one of the deans with these in it already. Not a lot of info on them and dean seems to have stopped using them as diamont and dean split and started using a different brand and non custom shop stuff.

I would love for a holeshot to be available as a standard pickup, similar to how they have the black winter and the distortion.

Overwound triple ceramic Custom you say? Hmm... Sounds interesting. I'd love to hear a description/sound clip of the tone, but I think I might have an idea of what it will sound like.

One of the things I was going to ask Mr. Z about if I got a chance to interview him for SD's blog. But he never responded.

Re: Dean Zelinsky Signature SD Pickups

Masta' C had one of the Trembucker bridge DZ pickups for sale a few months ago. Seemed interesting, probably sounded alot like a Distortion on steroids or even a Gibson 500T, which is a monster pickup.

Re: Dean Zelinsky Signature SD Pickups

Seems like they are called Diamond Signature pickups now and idk how the neck one is different from SH-1n since it has almost the same resistance of around 7.5k, same A5 magnet, does anyone have any info about the magnet wire used, is it plain enamel as well as the 59?
