Let's say you got one of these in basically mint condition with the gigbag just cuz it was a stupid good deal:

Even if it's totally beat up? Still playable but with the belt-scratches and finish chips you'd probably put on it yourself, being a heavy metal punk rock-n-roll loser like you are. It would have the original case with it...

Personally I'm more fond of the looks of the Jag but knowing its your call and knowing what you like I think you would be much better off getting the Jag and trading it for the SG. You'll love that you have 2 SGs so much you might be less annoyed by the fact you don't have a Les Paul, and maybe down the road can trade for one in similar condition.

American Gibson SG Standard for a mexican what-the-hell-ever? You shouldn't even ask. The SG, even beat, if it has no breaks or repairs will bring you $800,. I personally know of 3 Mexi-Jaguars that people would be happpy to see $350 cash on.

Those Jag HH in black and chrome say "crafted In Japan" near the neck pocket on the neck. My friend owns one. The MIM Jag HH axes don't have pup covers.

I vote for doing the trade-in deal.

If the HH Jag meant THAT much to you, you would not even be considering this exchange proposal. The economics are pure no-brainer. Even in the very worst case scenario, you can sell the Gibson SG Std and buy something else. (e.g. Another Gibson SG-X.)

I'm not really sure. I guess I would probably trade then buy an LP with some of the money you got from selling the SG.

The SG is just a great guitar. If you don't already have one, I'd get the SG . you won't regret it.

Now see me, I'm still figuring out what I want, so I'd want one SG and one Jaguar to have that variety to explore. But you, I think you know you like SGs.
