Degaussed A4- what does it do?

I have searched degaussing so much I almost degaussed my ass of.

Can I assume degaussing and A4 (using a Ceramic from a DMZ Super 3) would
a) simply lower the bass, mids and highs equally
or,
b) lower (weaken) the bass and highs a bit, but lower the mids a bit more (somewhat scooping the frequencies)?

Re: Degaussed A4- what does it do?

Depends on how much your planning on degaussing it... are you using a gauss meter to measure? I havent done A4 so i cant tell you what it would do but I know this much if your just planning on waving the ceramic around the A4 the results are going to be a bit random. This is one of those things... try it and see.

I'm not necessarily planning on it, but I'm considering it.
I don't have a gauss meter at all.
thanks

Every alnico grade behave differently to degaussing, also the same grade from different manufacturers also applies to the rule that they are no rules set in stone so you can't really generalize.

In the specific case of the A4s *I* sell, the first 15% of the charge reduces mostly the lows, and from that point on, it just get weaker.

There's a whole world underneath magnetism and materials behaviour in a magnetic circuit , I' m telling you... ;)

HTH,

HTH,

THAT'S the kind of info I was looking for- thanks

so it doesn't sound like a good idea for me to try it

I was just curious
