degaussing a pickup magnet with a speaker magnet?

Has anyone done this, either by accident or on purpose? I've read up on how to dagauss using a neodymium magnet (like the ones stew-mac sells), but was curious as to who has used a speaker magnet for this purpose.

I'd imagine that sticking a pickup magnet in the bottom of an open backed cabinet near the speaker magnet would have some sort of effect.

Also, has anyone here done a heavy degauss on an A2 magnet and how did it change the sound?

Magnets are cheap! Have fun and let us know what you think. The best way to hear is to try it out. But I would suggest buying a neodynium for convinence sake. Then you can leave the pickups in the guitar:)

yeah, waving a neodymium magnet over a pickup that's already installed would be alot easier! But I'm waiting for my clear coat on my latest partscaster to cure, so I'm trying to find other things to do to keep me busy :)
