Deja Vu' oscillation?

So I've seen quite a few clips and lots of talky talky about this product (not enough actual demonstration IMO). I have one question. Does the **** thing oscillate? I really MUST have spaceship "warping sounds" when I adjust the delay time/ratio knob.

I'm REALLY interested in picking one of these up because it seems like a very innovative new product. I mean digital AND analog WITH a tap tempo and modulation too?!?! Awesome! It will totally seal the deal if it oscillates and "warps" too. I may even sell my Sunny Day Delay to get it.

So far, out of all the video clips available online nobody has shown whether or not this pedal is capable of "spaceship sounds". Oh yeah, I'm not talking about "endless/crazy repeats", that HAS been shown already in the PGS.com clip. Specifically "warping" when the delay time/ratio knob is adjusted is what I mean.

Anyone of you lucky folks out there that have one of these babies wanna post a youtube clip to cover this ground that Seymour Duncan marketing team doesn't? That would be very helpful.

Re: Deja Vu' oscillation?

I have the same questions that you do... but I've been unable to get my hands on a Duncan delay, they haven't been shipping for very long. I think just a few weeks.

If you want a delay that can do really crazy self-oscillation tricks & sounds killer check out the Space Echo... hold down the 'tap' switch at some point in the trial... hehehe

Re: Deja Vu' oscillation?

Okay so I took the risk and got my Deja Vu' last week in the mail. The answers is YES it oscillates and makes some spaceship noises, which is cool. However when you're turning the delay time knob from one extreme to the other it sometimes "resets" and kills your vibe a little.

I have a Sunny Day Delay that is pretty amazing in it's own right that oscillates smoothly and really makes oscillation and instrument in itself. The Deja Vu' can't compete with it in this specific aspect.

In ALL the other applications the Deja Vu' smokes any delay pedal I've ever owned for functionality. I'd have preferred that they didn't use a "latched" tap tempo switch (annoying CLICK every time you start tapping, arghhh) but it gets the job done.

I'm a true-bypass snob so my one major beef is that when the true-bypass switch is engaged (opposite of trailing repeats) it's a considerable volume drop when you DISengage the Deja Vu'. When you turn it back on it's waaay louder all of a sudden. My solution has been to keep the switch on trailing repeats and NOT use the true-bypass mode. Very annoying and it compromises the "true-bypassness" of my rig and it's integrity.

I must re-iterate, I actually like the pedal but it's stretching me. I'd prefer to be able to run in ONLY in true-bypass mode but the volume change rules that out.

Anyone have any ideas?
