How do I cancel the tap tempo to go back to standard knob control?

Also...any tips on mounting this baby? I assume it's best to remove the grooved rubber bottom before applying Velcro...concerned that the screws on the bottom will not allow for a good grip.

If you're in rate mode, just turning the knob to a different time overtakes the tempo. In other words, both tap and knob always work. In ratio mode tap works and moving the knob shifts the ratio.

5. Ratio/Delay Time – This knob carries two functions. When in “Delay
Time” mode, this knob simply adjusts the rate of the delay effect from
3 ms counter clockwise, to 2600 ms clockwise. Longer delay times are
available when using the Tap Tempo footswitch (see below). Also, this
knob allows access to the Déjà Vu’s loop mode. When the knob is fully
clockwise, the Déjà Vu enters Loop Mode. The LED behavior will invert,
from flashing the delay time to a constant beam that dips to show the
delay time. In this mode you simply press and hold the Tap Tempo footswitch
like a “record button” while you’re playing, and once you release
the footswitch the recording stops and immediately begins an infinite
loop, which you can now play over.
When in “Ratio” Mode, this control takes you through five tempo subdivisions:
1:1, “dotted 8th note” (or 1.33:1), 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1. Or another
way to look at it is quarter notes, dotted eighth notes, eighth notes,
triplets, and sixteenth notes. This is not a continuous control, but corresponds
to the five distinct sections marked on the outer band.

the tempo light always blinks. that way you know if the delays are running at the speed you want before you engage the effect.

All pedals regardless of who makes them use power led or no led if you leave the guitar leads in (except in a few rare instances). Delays suck batteries quicker than fluffer at a festival. A flashin led uses negligible power compared to the rest of the unit. MOst people would use a power supply anyway, so its no big deal.

I sanded my green LED with 600 grit. It turns it into a "frosted" LED which you can see from all angles. We should have used a frosted LED.
As for the blinking LED, that's pretty standard for tap tempo pedals that can accept taps when they're off. There's nothing "design flawed" about that. In fact for many players it would be a design flaw to shut it off.

pulling the battery wont make a difference. Plugging in the ac adapter disables the battery circuit anyways. if it really drives you mad, you will have to unplug the input jack...but if course then you get nothing! lol...
or...
just chill...mebbe youll learn to like the flashing led like most ppl who use it.
