Delay pedals...

I'm playing a solo gig on New Years Eve, and I am planning on using the cash to get myself a delay pedal. I currently have an older Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde-->Morley Pwer Wah-->Duncan Twin Tube Classic-->Carl Martin 'Plexitone Prototype'-->Marshall Supervibe Chorus-->Marshall TSL 601.

I'm looking to spend about £120, and it needs to be fairly versatile. Tap tempo would be nice, but not essential. I guess I'mm looking for tone over features, but hey, let me know your ideas!!!!

Edit: Ideally I should be able to get delay times from a cheeky slapback, up to Brian May territory...

I've been looking at the Digitech Hardwire series delay. I think it was PGS that had a youtube demo and it sounded really good.

If you find some old DD-2s or the first batch of DD-3s with the same big chip as the DD-2(same delay hehe) Those are great delays too.
The Hardwired sounds very good, same with the Boss SpaceEcho.

Cheers Niels. It's always a little more awkward when you're working on a tighter budget, but it seems there is a lot greater choice at lower price-points these days.

The Ibanez Tonelok delay is also one good delay.

CMATMODS Deeelay... more organic sounding than my DD3(not difficult I know)... the repeats sound very cool. I say that 'coz I'm sure it's digital and yet very analog.... warm and musical. I hardly used the DD3, but the Deeelay can be left on 'coz it sounds so natural... hard to explain. Not going to break the bank either... although not as versatile as many I'm happy.

CMATMODS Deeelay... more organic sounding than my DD3(not difficult I know)... the repeats sound very cool. I say that 'coz I'm sure it's digital and yet very analog.... warm and musical. I hardly used the DD3, but the Deeelay can be left on 'coz it sounds so natural... hard to explain. Not going to break the bank either... although not as versatile as many I'm happy.

Never heard of one of those, just going for a nose...

Hey fella, I think it sounds VERY anaog TBH and it's a keeper. One day I may have another delay and it WILL be a Retrosonic, but for now the Deeelay is great. I have heard that the MXR sounds good, but also that they suffered from reliabilty problems. CMATMODS are very similar IMO to Keeley quality and I am just as happy with the Signa Comp I bought at the same time... infact I prefer the smoother, more subtle sound of the Comp to the 4 knob Keeley I sold earlier in the year. The only thing is, I doubt you'll get one in time for your gig!

No, I'm pretty much planning for a New Year pressie now!! I haven't had a delay in my rig since I sold my old Yammie Digi Delay/Sampler. That pedal was a lot of fun!
Probably get away without using delay for the gig. If I really need it, I'll put my old Zoom 3030 in the loop and just select a delay preset.

Check out you tube, I'm sure there are some clips... and some on the CMATMODS site.... can't recommend it enough although it is a basic pedal, not all singing and dancing. Shame you're not over here you could have tried it for the gig.

So does my budget !
I got mine used !
I honestly love mine, and i have it for almost 4 weeks now !
My MXR Carbon Copy is GOOD, but i prefer the Delayla XL !
