Hey All

Is the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe the Same as the Hot Rod Deville only different speaker config and output?

Also, where does the blues deluxe fit in with those two? same or different?

I cant access the Fender website, and the Australian one has no specs.

Re: Deluxe the same as Deville?

the hot rod dlx/deville are fairly similar with the power and speaker being the biggest difference. 40w & 1x12 for the dlx and 60w & either 2x12 or 4x10 for the deville. the extra power and speakers do change the tone some but there are way more similaritys than differences.

the blues versions have a different voicing, more mids and earlier break up

. . . yup, that is how i would have said it too !

I also heard from a lot of various Fender owners that the Blues models sound that lil better than the 3-channel Hot Rods.

Blues only have 2-channels !

IF hte Blues series was not that expensive over here, i would have gone for the 4x10 Blues Deville, but my local store wants $2000.00 USD (i kid you not) for it !!!

So i told them, " . . . for $2000.00, you can keep it :fing25: "

I still think the Blues DeVille (4x10) is an awsome (cheaper) alt. to the Bassman LTD !

Re: Deluxe the same as Deville?

I've played through the Hot Rod Deluxe 1x12, and the Hot Rod DeVille 4x10. The 4x10 DeVille definitely sounds bigger and fuller than the Deluxe - more highs and lows. Other than that, and the output level, they were pretty much the same.
