Designed by Seymour Duncan?

Some one just sent me some pics of the pickups in his guitar. I have seen many "Duncan Designed" obviously but these said Designed by Seymour Duncan, they were also black with no pole pieces showing like Blackouts or EMGs. Anyone know what they are? Were they pre Duncan Designed?

Re: Designed by Seymour Duncan?

nvm...I think I just found my answer. It appears they are late 80's that came in some of the higher end Kramers.

Re: Designed by Seymour Duncan?

Can you post a pic? there were duncan designed actives. But a pic would definitely help

Re: Designed by Seymour Duncan?

Yes they are pre-Duncan Designed, and were made for those Kramers in the 80's. 600 series I think? I have no idea what's under the hood. They were Asian-made. If you like the way they sound that's all that matters I suppose.

define "higher end Kramers"

every Kramer I bought with "American" on the headstock or the Neptune baseplate came with regular Duncans. only one that didn't was an 80s Focus 2000 that was clearly an import...and was soon upgraded with the first Duncans I ever bought.

Yup. Same here. If it was an "American" series Kramer, it had real Seymour Duncans.

Kramer Striker 615 ST series, i don't think it is higher end(i have one). Made in Korea plywood guitar. Amazing neck tho!
Bridge PU says made in Korea, is 16K or so, maybe a sort of a JB. Neck and middle 11K. All passive.
