Determining North/South poles on unmarked Magnet?

Hey guys,
I just got some A-2/ A-3 magnets from Ampage, Steve ID'd the Magents for me but did not mark which end was north. I do however have two previous magnets that North were marked on. If I remember my magnetism properties correctly, LIKE POLES REPEL? CORRECT? North would repel North.

Thus I could determine which end of the new magnets are north by bringing them together with the magnet side of the known North Magnet that I have.

I am remembering my magnetism correctly and is this a sound method of determining my uknown polarity? :smack:

Yep, likes repel. For a cheap solution, go to your local Target and buy a camping compass.

Thanks For the replies guys! I thought I was going to be swapping magnets in my JB to an A-2. My strat was pretty too bright with a C-5 and I ended up swapping in an A-2 making it a C/C. While I liked it I wanted a less compressed raw JaKe E.Lee tone with this guitar. I was afraid the JB would be ice pickey highs. Much to my surpirse the pickup sounds great, nice in the upper mids which I love! Crunchy yet very articulate on single notes. I love what I am hearing so far! That is in an Alder Strat, with and a one piece all maple neck and Floyd. Very surprised to say the least. I may have some magnets for sale. :dance:
