Dialed in the home-built lapsteel

I installed a GFS alnico 2 classic and split it to the screw coil instead of the slug coil, since i put it too far away from the bridge. It's staggered, so i get a very stratty vibe when it's split.

Cool, sounds good man. I love lap steels. I put a Seth Lover in mine. I need to replace the fretboard so I measured and put it in the neck position with a 250k pot. It sounds more like slide on a Les Paul neck pickup now. I have most of the parts for a doubleneck build, one for open G and one for open E. I just got my maple cap yesterday. Got a Shubb capo, these are cool, very adjustable.

That looks like a lot of fun..... Must have been a blast. Is this the one that you made from the old tree in the yard?

Very cool! The last pic I saw of it, was it as a dead tree lying on the ground. Nice to see, and hear it finished.
