OBL arent made by Bill Lawrence, if you want some by him, just call him and make an order.

OBL used to be made by Bill Lawrence and then he sold the rights to Gibson. They used his OBL name to label Korean pups and I am trying to see if these are them. Thanks. - Rob

The website clearly states they are US made.

If your concerned give them a call and put your mind at rest - I've dealt with Axesrus in the past and found them nothing but friendly helpful and they seem to know there stuff.

It does say they are USA made but they sure look like the later versions to me.

the ones on my gibson u2 superstrat are made in germany

I would naturally assume any 3rd party pup bought off Ebay is a fake lol but that's just me. Give them a call if you're concerned.

The problem with Bill Lawrence pickups is your never sure what your getting. Thats not to say that something not hand wound by the man himself is junk. It has to do with how god damn prolific he has been! If you look at it he has designed pickups for at least 6 different companies! Bill Lawrence Design, Bill Lawrence Pickup company, Ultrasonic, OBL, Gibson, Framus, Keystone, Dan Armstrong. I am sure I am missing a few?! I think his downfall is that he hasn't kept a strict license on the use of his name and his designs.

I would like to see a family tree of sorts with each of the companies he worked for the pickups produced and what models superceded other models. Kind of like the UNIX family tree.
