Did I order the correct pickup?

I have a vintage Kramer Pacer with a single bridge humbucker and a Floyd. I also have a Jackson Dinky reverse.I just ordered a SD Invader for the Kramer and a 59 Custom Hybrid for the Jackson. Any issues with either pickup in these guitars. Thanks.

They are both great pickups.

You probably need to say what you're after before we can say if you're going to get it with those pickups :)

I love the hybrid but it feels like a strange choice for a Dinky since I think you would need hotter pickups for the music I've seen people play on them but like I said, you should tell us what you're after first :)

Re: Did I order the correct pickup?

Welcome to the Forum!

You chose good pickups, but this is entirely dependent on what kind of music and what amp you will use. They will be terrible for jazz (but so would a Jackson Dinky), for instance. BTW, the 59/Custom Hybrid is one of my favorite pickups.

Re: Did I order the correct pickup?

I haven't installed them yet. I chose the invader for the Kramer because of the single pick up and maple neck. The EQ on the Invader is showing less on the treble side. Would the hybrid be a better fit for the Kramer ?

Re: Did I order the correct pickup?

The EQ graph on the website honestly isn't always the most accurate, because the perceived EQ is heavily affected by the the amp and the guitar that the pickup is in

I would say it all depends on what you want out of each of those guitars

If you want that guitar to be loudest and evillest sounding guitar ever with a giant roar, put the Invader in
The 59/Custom Hybrid is for the guitar that you want the most versatility out of

Re: Did I order the correct pickup?

The only issue is if you like how they sound.

Now, for the tough love portion; If you are delicate - don't read this next part...

How TF would we know? You told us basically "I have two Strat style guitars". Will these sound good?
- No idea what style of music
- No idea what amp or effects
- No idea what tones you are after
- And no idea how each guitar sounds!!!!!! There must be dozens of variations on those guitars from Indonesia to US to new to vintage

I would assume you know about the pickups, so I'd say "If you like the Invader and the 59/CUstom, sure" but based on what I was told, I'm not even sure of that.

:argh:

How about we try this again, and ask a robust, fully informed version, of what you want to know so we can give you real answers about what you might expect...

And by the way - asking about the pickups BEFORE you get them, even better move! Sorry if I sound like a grumpy old man, but I am.
