Did I wire my PATB1 up correctly??

I have a Patb1 Trembucker on the bridge of my MIM strat, but I want to make sure it is wired up correctly.


here's what I did:
black wire on the 5 way control switch.

Green and bare were grounded on the back of a pot.

red and white were soldered together and then covered in electrical tape.


I don't want to split this humbucker or get the out of phase tone; I simply want the powerful humbucker sound. I thought I would ask if it was wired up correct before I put it all back together.

yes.....make sure the pot you grounded it to leads to the grounds of the other pickups though.

Also, im not sure how you're bridge + middle position will sound. I've got a 2 conductor pickup in my bridge, and it mixes terribly with the middle single, sounds weak. but your bridge alone position should sound fine

Weak as in not great tone or weak as in empty, hollow, and far away? Could be that ya got em wired up outta phase.

I THINK all ya'd have to do that Is swap the hot and ground leads on your SC's...but then again, I'm no electronics expert :blackeye:

To the original post: sounds like you got it right. Put her back together and let us know how she sounds! .

Yeah it may be outta phase, lacks some bass. but doesnt lose much volume, im not sure. will check it out one day!

Well guys I got her back together. She sounds pretty good.

Here is what tones I can get on the 5 way switch:

1. bridge
2 bridge + one half of the Little 59 on the neck.
3. one half of the little 59
4. one half of the little 59
5. full 59 humbucker.

I only have tone control on the Little 59 in the 2,3,4 positions. The full humbucker mode doesn't have the tone control hooked up into it. hmmm....

Can I put a bridge wire between the pole with the Little 59 red and white wire to the pole with the little 59 black wire so I can control the tone in position 5?

Also, I used 500k pots for the tones and volume and a single .022k capacitor.
