A very Clean Mesa F30 combo showed up at a friends shop a few days ago. I had an F 30 Short head for a while and really loved in particular the cleans. I traded my Subway Rocket for the little F 30. Still sorting the F30 out as it has been setting somewhere unplayed for a while, so will get the chassis out and clean all the controls in a day or so. This would be about the only other amp I can think of that I would have even consider trading the Rocket for. That short head was very similar on the gain side, but had one of the best cleans of any amp I have ever played.
Still trying to figure out what to run as a speaker, as the amp came with a Vin 30. I like the Vin 30, but not so much in an open back combo, and it just doesn't really work with these amps.
Leaning towards a WGS ET 65 as had an ET 10 in the rocket and it killed. Open to suggestions, though.
Will post photos after I get a chance to really go through the amp and sort it out, then post a couple of clips.
Here is the Short head through a 1/12 cab with an old 90s GT 75 Celestian..

Sweet. I've got ET65's in my Peavey 6505 4x12. They sound awesome. I don't play much clean stuff at all, but they sound great w/ gain for rhythm & solo's. The only reason I don't plug into that cab more is that it's way across the room, far from my recording desk and is a PIA to mic up. Every amp of mine has sounded great through it though :bigthumb:

First clip of the clean. Must have clipped the camera mic because that splat when I hit it hard you didn't hear in the room. I just got the amp back together after cleaning all the controls and dropping in a fresh set of tubes. Was running a Xotic SP compressor in the front with a Boss DD 7 set with a light slap and a Neunaber verb in the loop. Playing the KOA DC 127 with a Sentient Neck and an Alt 8 bridge, so this is far from my best clean guitar!
