Did SRV actually use...

Re: Did SRV actually use...

But still I do not think texas specials are good SRV pickups. In fact, I'd advise getting a set of surfers for a bright (ash) strat, and a set of van zandt vintage + neck and middle and blues bridge for a darker (alder) strat for the SRV tone.

But I am really curious about them Chubtone pickups, especially for the Gallagher tone. GJ, do you have any contact information of Mike Gray?

Best,

B

Why do you guys even care what stevie used?

Even if you sound exactly like him, you'll never "sound" like him. And take as much offence by that as you want.

Worry about playing, not about gear......Ed

Thanks for the powerful insight man. But here we are at a gear-related forum, in a sub section about pickups. So I see a little tone-quest question about specifics as relevant and useful. Also it's geeky and fun. Playing (technique & taste) will always be king.(universally)

Lew said it nicer...

The quoted response could be yelled at about 90 percent of posts in the forum.

Isn't all this discussion simply a guitar players version of talking about the weather? :laugh2: What else are we supposed to do when we not swinging our axes? :laugh2:
