Diezel VH4 Pedal---Does It Measure Up?

Does this one live up to the hype? I know it's based on the VH4's channel 3, like the AMT D2. I would imagine the Diezel comes closer, while costing more. Any opinions out there, other than buying the actual amp? I understand a pedal only gets you in the ball park.

Try it out and see if you like it. Do you want a full Diezel or just the option of an approximate Diezel gain sound?

I'm only hoping for the latter. I know better than to expect the entire amp. I understand that both pedals I've mentioned are modeled after the third channel.

Like I said in your other post, there's a couple of things to weigh up. Diezel would know their own amps best. AMT would be doing their best to work out how to get the sound by available schematics and by ear. If I was in your position and had to have a stab in the dark, I would get the Diezel if it wasn't too much, check to see if they have a return policy and if it sucks, return it. Or if there's a return policy on both, you could even buy both, compare them and return the one you don't like (which some people will think isn't very nice but it's an idea).

Thanks for both this and your other reply (I also replied to that reply, LOL). Very helpful.

One thing I've learned about full preamp pedals is that so much depends on the base amp tone. The pedal actually can clone the real amp if you find the right platform for it. It may sound lame in front of a solid state practice amp, but killer in front of a pushed clean JCM 800.

Not sure if you already buy it or not but here is a video where they compare against the real amp

They're not made by Diezel, but rather, the company that makes Bogners pedals- they make them for Diezel.
