Difference between 2 S-1 switches by Fender that I found?

Hi y'all,

I am trying to figure out if there is a difference between two S-1 switches, both by Fender, on Amazon. I am modding my American Lone Star Strat to have an S-1 switch and another push-push to approximate an American Elite Strat HSS.

Here are the 2 links:
https://www.amazon.com/Fender-Split...TF8&qid=1549473330&sr=8-1&keywords=fender+s-1

https://www.amazon.com/Assy-250K-25...=1549473292&sr=8-1&keywords=fender+0078777000

The 2nd one is the part listed in the Elite, but I already have the first. Mostly just need to know if they do the same thing and are wired the same, but if there is a difference in quality, sound, etc. that'd be good to know as well.

Thanks!
Jon

All I have been able to find is that the newer one has a plastic shell making it more difficult to use the casing as a ground solder point.

That seem right to y'all?

It looks like the one with the plastic case doesn’t have splines in the shaft. If so, it would require knobs with a set screw. But it’s hard to tell in the photo.

Woah, I'm glad I got the older one just in case then. I think it works the same, I cannot find anything that says differently.

Thanks!
