Difference between a Custom SH-5 and a Custom 5 SH-14?

Re: Difference between a Custom SH-5 and a Custom 5 SH-14?

Custom > C5

It was the first Duncan I tried. It blew me away. I never thought my Les Paul would sound that good.

Split it to get some spanky cleans out of it.

If I didn't have my own customized pup, mine would be the Custom. An alnico V is only going to run you a few more bucks anyway. It's not like you just dropped 200 bucks on a recording program you can't use.

Yeah, with 500K's. But with 250K's, the highs are tamed and the kids seem stronger. As much as I like C5's, they gotta have 250K's to work for me. And if that's still a bit bright, I put in an A8.

I agree with this. I had a custom, thought it was a bit steril sounding, but with a a-8 swap, it is perfect for me in a epi lp. I have 2 sh 14's as well, one in a Epi lp, and the other in a epi v, and like them better than ceramic. a-2 is nice also. I guess it just boils down to I am not a ceramic guy.
