Difference in Tone?

Re: Difference in Tone?

i didnt notice a huge difference in tone, per say

but pick attack does change a LOT. i like a thinner pick, like a fender medium, as my volume knob basically is useless, i need to be able to pick softly. i also use my middle finger and pick a lot

so i like a thinner pick

Re: Difference in Tone?

I use these as well, exclusivley. i cannot get comfy with a regular pick any more. I will mimicking what other said but yes the different thickness of plastic picks and string guage will make a difference in tone and feel. +1 to thinner pick equals thinner tone. That said a thin pick is excellent for really fast strumming on acoustic.

actually, i love using thin picks when i play acoustic, it helps me not seem like i'm picking as hard. when i do, the lows of my cheapy acoustic can get overwhelming and boomy, so thin picks definitely help in that department.
