different pickup models and magnets

I've read several different things on these boards and I'm not quite so sure how correct they are. I've read that a Holdsworth model humbucker is just a JB with an alnico 2 magnet (with the 12 adjustable pole pieces). I've read that Duncan Distortion is a JB with a ceramic magnet, that Seymour himself uses A2's in his JB's, that Jeff Beck's JB on the Tele-Gib had an A2...as well as other things of that nature. How much of this is true? Sometimes I can't tell whether it is true or people are just talking out of their ass. Can anyone verify any of this?

Re: different pickup models and magnets

I've wondered the same things. When I first came here it was to ask what pickup replaced the Holdsworth, and was told something else. Later I read that it's a JB with a different magnet and the 12 screws.
I've also read the Distortion was a ceramic JB, and then again I read something else that said it wasn't the case.

Info is nice, but it's even nicer when there's a verified source.
I'd suppose if the DD and JB used the same wire and same number of wraps and had the same K, that's one thing, but I can't figure out how a magnet affects the electrical impulses running from the hot probe of a multimeter to the ground probe.
It seems to me the magnet only affects the audible output, not the electrical.

the JB/DD/Invader are the same wind. can't say the same for the holdsworth, but i've also heard that it's just a dual screw a2 JB.
