Re: digitech chorus factory
I heard it in Frankfurt, and it sounded good. The thing that strikes me is that they've chosen to model other brands of chorus sounds. It seems to me that it's slowly becoming more rare that a designer actually creates a sound anymore. Even the boutique manufacturers are doing a lot of recreations. I'd like to see more people actually make a sound, especially in the analog domain than all this digital modelling.
Although all of this modelling stuff makes for very good "firsts" because if you said "what should my first chorus pedal be?" I might say the Digitech, because it can introduce you to different flavors. Then when you're ready for the real thing, you may have narrowed it down to two or three favorites. Because it definitely didn't sound as good as a "real thing" to me, and I've played all the original boxes they're modeling. There's an analog sweetness that's missing.
