I love it. '93 Hamer Special W/ Duncan Stacked P90's > Metal Master>
Fender Bassman RI combo w/4x10's = Blow your face off. Best combo I've
ever played thru. Holy cow, everything in spades. Barry Manilow thru
AC/DC thru Distortionfest 2011. How do you post clips?

Peace,

Darrin

What Manilow tune requires a metal pedal? Or is it your own interpretation (don't laugh, could be cool...high gain mandy)?

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

LOL^^ I was gonna ask the same thing...

I can totally picture Copa Cabana in speed metal form...

Lol...i was going to mention that song because we played it in marching band the year it was famous....oye...embarassing enough to be in marching band, but to play that song. He's actually a good song writer and singer...but...

I think a metal version is called for.

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

I thought the metal master was just too much gain for anything. Even with the gain all the way down it was still pushing into death metal territory.

Not true Andrew. I dunno if it's 4x10 combo I'm playin thru or perhaps
your misconception, but I love the pedal and would recommend it to
anyone who wants versatile dirt. It's very crunchy and articulate throught the spectrum. Check it out.

Peace,

Darrin

Woah! That is a crazy amount of gain. You guys are talking about this pedal right?

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

Yeh it doesn't have a gain control and all the settings Ive heard are full on gain ... Some clips would be great though to hear if it is more versatile then I (and others) have been led to believe

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

Well the x morph knob goes from crunch to smooth the scooped to death...there areyoutube videos I'm sure

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

Those clips all sound like heavy distortion regardless of the morph knob settings. Blues if you have found a way to make that pedal versatile I'd really love to hear what it can do. Are you talking about using the guitar's volume as well to tame some of the pedal's gain?

Re: Digitech Metal Master!

I plugged into one at a shop once. I thought it was very versatile. The key is the morph knob. As you turn it, you get tones reminiscent of the Boss Metal Zone to a scooped tone, and my favorite: a thick, mid-boosted tone that was errily similar to Randy Rhoads' Distortion +-into-a-Marshall tone on the first Ozzie Osbourn albums. Playing "Crazy Train" and "I Don't KNow" riffs through it sounded just like the studio recordings.

The morph knob is Digitech's attempt to put the history of metal guitar tones at your fingertips in one pedal.
