Has anyone tried any of these. A friend of mine has the older model and loves his. Anyone tried the Digitech RP150, 250?

Thanks,
Coachc

Re: Digitech RP'S

i am a tone snob so others may have nicer things to say but i think they suck. some of digitech's single pedals arent bad for the money but the multifx hurt my musical soul

Re: Digitech RP'S

I had an RP100 when I started out, and ran it through a Peavey TNT 1x15 bass amp.

Don't do that. When I first started I thought it was awesome, but there are much better setups to spend your money on. Whether you go individual FX, or a multi FX unit.

Re: Digitech RP'S

The only thing I really like them for is jamming on the go. I've still got my 10 year old Zoom 505 that I take with on trips just so I can play through headphones. Granted, something like the Pandora would probably be a smaller, better option, but for once or twice a year...

Ya, they make me hurl when I hear them too. Nasty sounding IMO.

A line 6 stuff or a Vox modeling amp is alot better! That berringer version of the Pod is decent tone for the money too. Stay far away from digitech.

Hmn,

Could be, but from what I've heard they sound pretty decent especially for the $.

Re: Digitech RP'S

Yeah, they all suck. Wait, no they dont.
The RP200 I have is perfectly fine for clean and higher gain, its just not good for the medium gain stuff. I was never dissatisfied with it, and I got it for $110 so nothing else out there was better for the price. I really needed to have all effects and play in this band quickly, and I had very little money to spend. (and for the most part just had a guitar)
Played direct to the PA for a long time with it. Hear it here
Not anywhere near the best, but it does its job.

I had a RP 200 and i just can say what Jeremy said!

I sold it in a month!

Nice effects and whatnot...But the tone is muffled ,the models suck ,and you get no nice amp tone at all...

Zoom and Digitech suck on mid/low class multi fx stuff.

Re: Digitech RP'S

If you're goofing around with a small amp, and not going for traditional tones, you might like it. If you're trying to get really authentic, classic tones, you'll be unhappy.

Re: Digitech RP'S

I had an RP300....it is simply a tone sucking digital mess of a pedal. That is the one purchase that I regret the most over the years.

Re: Digitech RP'S

I had a RP150 and yep, it was utter garbage. Cold and steril, the "amp models" or whatever were a total joke unless you like digital and fizzy thin sounding amps, and all the other effects all had no vibe or character. Every modulation effect sounded exactly the same as well.
