Re: digitech whammy's

I didn't think they amde that many whammy's....

Well, anywho... There's the ORIGINAL Whammy. Then there's a Black Whammy. Then there's the XP-100 Whammy (Which I have, and is for sale), and finally the Whammy Reissue.

I've had no experience with the Black Whammy model. From what I've experienced, the Whammy Reissue most faithfully reproduces the sounds it tries to get. For example, set it to patch 14 on the XP100 (2 octave up). When you have the wah all the way down, the sound gets crackly, annoying, and sounds more like noise than a note 2 octaves up. Compare that to the Whammy Reissue, which hits that note dead on without any of the "breakup" sounds.

They all have the same patches, but the newest whammy sounds cleaner. The octave ups are more convincing and the harmonizing patches actually sound like it's up a 5th, or a 6th, or a 7th.......

Hope this helped...
