It really IS a killer guitar. but, realistically, it isnt the one I reach for most cuz the neck is like a soloist. just alil bit wider than what Im at home with. plus the emgs. plus the fretboard is so slick. Its very special,but Im not a shredder and dont use it to full capacity. However, I could sell all but this one and be happy with it. It just takes some getting used to. Its like OJ's glove. I could make it fit.. Where as my Charvels, feel like a second skin on my hands..
So, I guess if the glove doesnt fit, I must sell it...

Recently I picked up a few Squier Bullet H-S Telecasters. Humbucker in the bridge, string through body, black hardware. Pretty much ready to go, aside from having rosewood fretboards. (Personal choice of course.) Grabbed some maple fretboard Squier Telecasters, swapped the necks and sold off what I didn't need, and put new humbuckers in the bridge, esquire style pickguards to cover the neck slot, and new strings. Done, and in the $150 or less price range when all was said and done. Very comfortable to play, so I will pick them up and play them more often.

The Internet is nothing if not one great swirling sewer chock full of a ridonkulous amount of gear. Thus the odds are good that whatever it was will come around again. As an added bonus the perpetual availability on the 'net of nearly everything tends to keep a lid on prices so, again, the odds are good that decently priced examples will also come around and probably with some regularity. Almost everything falls into this lot.
Caveat: If it's unique, rare or a magical example of the type ... buy it. Now. There are instruments that I held in my hands decades ago but passed on due solely to price but which subsequently vanished never to be seen again (by me anyway). Others I tracked for many years to find an excellent example of the type. If it's one of these special ones I'd find a way.

If it had been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I would have said get it. However, if it's anything close to a modern production instrument, you'll have many opportunities to get one again in the near future once your finances are sorted.

Well, not once in a lifetime, but it was on my top 3 list of most wanted guitars, it was normally $2500, but was nearly a grand less than normal. And, it was actually a mistake (headstock was finished same as body) but I actually liked it BETTER! So, was a rare opportunity. But, Im not going to do it... just hard to pass
