Dillion Guitar & APH-1

hello all.

i played mostly fenders up to now, a mexican with delta tones, then an american with custom shop 54s, now a clapton 2001 with the VNs etc.

I am getting a Dillion Les Paul on a whim, I hear pretty good things about them and got a GREAT price. Anyway do you think the APH-1 would be a good match up with the guitar?

I am a big Slash fan as well as Joe Perry.

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Amp.

Thanks for any input!

APH-1 is the Alnico 2 Pro right?

I'm in the same postition as this guy i want to know if this is a nice humbucker.

Sry to hijack the thread aswell but how well does it compare to a 59b and a PGb?

Yeah as far as I know it is about the only pickup that Slash uses beside the PAF original ones...

I know a lot of it is i the amp, and well the man himself but still gotta start down the road :)

yeah, the AIIP is the one that slash's custom shop pups are based on ... i have one in the neck of one of my guitars and a 59 in the neck of another ... i like em both for different reasons ... the AIIP sounds clearer to me with well-balanced bass ... nice cleans and overdrives nicely ... the 59 is a bit woolier in the bass and really sings for overdriven leads ... very warm, clean chords for jazzy comping ....

good luck
