Have Dillion DTT72 Thinline Tel,came with a set of Dimarzios($150) which I don't like,
what would be the best pups for this type of guitar?I play mostly Blues and Country.
If you want to keep it with traditional tele singles, you have many options. First off though, what don't you like about the current set up? Also, what kind of amp are you playing through?
The Dimarzio pickups are geared for high distortion and thats not my style(Blues/Country).My amp is a Peavey Classic Chorus 212(SS).I forgot to mention that the Dillion has a Humbucker at the neck and a single coil at the bridge(Fat Tel).
I too play blues and country (with some rock thrown in).
I use an APHn and a STL-2 tapped. I set the APHn to split with a push pull pot and the STL-2 taps via a 5 way switch. This gives me the ability to mimic a traditional tele sound with the neck split and the bridge tapped, or if I need more output and a thicker tone, I can use the full neck and bridge sounds.
