Dimarzio announced 3 new models;

Super PAF;

Muscle T Neck:

Muscle T Bridge;

What do you say about it?

Something i noticed;

1) EQ of Super PAF looks like a Duncan Custom. So i would expect some resamblance. It may be a louder version of Custom.
2) Dimarzio doesnt declare the grade of the alnico they used in the new tele pickups? Why? I dont know :)

The first pickup is a Super Distortion that looks like a normal humbucker.

In all except one case, Dimarzio uses alnico V.

Literally "hey we just made Super Distortions with a slug and fillister bobbins"

Clearly shop floor customs have spoiled us

I bet for fake Fillister screws (slugs with slotted heads) in regular Super Dist. bobbins : it would keep the inductance and magnetic circuit virtually identical compared to the usual DP100 with thick hex screws.

Ironically, that's the kind of recipe used in cheap Asian pickups (I've found slugs with slotted heads in Epiphone, Cort or Harley Benton ceramic loaded humbuckers mounted in low price guitars).

I hope that's the case. That would be hilarious

If the Super PAF does have slugs and fillister screws but the same coils it won't sound exactly the same as a Super Distortion. I really don't see the point of the different cosmetics.

Dimarzio has their new PAF 57 which comes with an A2 and the Satchur8 and IGNO has A8. So three cases I suppose. Neodynium is not a grade of Alnico.

Dimarzio's whole thing has been they use airbucker technology and/or virtual vintage to give their magnets softer sounds. An airbucked vv A5 will sound soft and spongy, but be more stable than an A2.

They still have quite a few A2 single coils though.

That's why i'm curious. They always give the grade of alnicos. OK, they never present if the grade of the neodimium magnet is N35, N38 or N42 nor the grade of the ceramic. Nevertheless, this time all they give in the webpage is "alnico". It make me think and create assumptions :)
