Dimarzio Bluesbucker vs GFS Dream 90

Which one of the two sounds more like a real P90?

Actually I own both so I know how they sound. I just don't know how a real good P90 sounds like. I like the Bluesbucker better than the Dream 90. So I wonder if a real P90 will suit me even better.

I used to own a Bluesbucker. I enjoyed the pickup in the the neck position of an ash 'n' maple Stratocaster-type guitar. It had a nice blend of humbucker and fat single coil sonics. What it did not have, however, was the rude sleazy powerful blues rock sound of a P90. There is a dynamic response that a good P90 (and, for that matter, a G&L Jumbo MFD) has through overdriven valve amplification that nothing else possesses.

+1. DMz Bluesbuckers don't have the muscle. They sound like a weak HB, not a P-90. Get a GFS Mean 90 for a real P-90 sound!

The dream 90's are way overwound and not as nice sounding as the MEAN 90's which nail that P90 tone :)

Mean 90 for sure.

I've never tried the Dream 90, but i haven't heard any good reviews about the Dream 90. Certainly doesn't have that P-90 vibe.

The Mean 90 has the larger P90-size coil in it, the Dream 90 has a Strat-sized smaller coil. The Mean 90 has had many good reviews that I've read on forums, and is supposed to sound very close to a real P90 (Although it has a metal cover on it, unlike most P90's - though some Epiphones had metal dog-ear covers). The Gibson P94 is another choice for a humbucker-sized P90 type pickup.
