Dimarzio Norton with A2 magnet

The norton is bright, wondering if an A2 mag would tame that a bit...anyone try?

Thanks

Re: Dimarzio Norton with A2 magnet

I made a Norton clone for one of my guitars. I ended up putting an A2 in it.

Keep in mind that the spacers (“air” feature) simulated a weaker magnet. But an A2 does soften the top end.

Its actually a standard norton, not the air. Think ill give it a shot. Magnet swap witj dimarzio easy enough?

Re: Dimarzio Norton with A2 magnet

I've got a standard Norton in my mahogany Hamer. It's not that bright. As a matter of fact, it's less bright and sounds better than the JB it replaced.

A2 will definitely help tame the Norton if you're finding it bright. Removal/swapping of the mag isn't much different than Duncan, except DiMarzio occasionally uses a dab of glue to hold it in.

Yes, if it’s the regular Norton the magnet isn’t glued in.
