Gday. Im buying a 250k and a 500k volume pot and the shop i buy most of my stuff from only stocks dimarzio pots. Are these any good? I was originally looking for some CTS ones and im just wondering if the Dimarzios are good or if i should just go some where and get the CTS ones? Thanks for any help.

They are CTS pots, but most of the time it will be cheaper to just buy CTS branded pots!

Yeah, forum member Kent_S recommended them to me a while ago, and I now use them in all of my guitars that have push/pull pots. They have a nice solid feel to the rotation, and the switch is much sturdier than the cheap pots. Gibson, Fender, StewMac, Allparts...all of those places order their push/pull pots from the exact same supplier overseas, and then repackage them. But the Dimarzios are custom built specifically for them. I'm not the biggest fan of Dimarzio pickups, but their pots are top notch, as good as or better than anything else out there.
One thing to watch out for, Dimarzio makes both audio and linear tapered pots. They only started making audio pots a few months ago, and they're phasing out the linear tapered pots. So any dealer that has old stock will likely only have the linear pots. If you want to try them, I recommend ordering the audio tapered pots directly from a Dimarzio dealer...unless you like linear pots, but I personally can't stand them for guitar wiring.

Thanks for the DiMarzio/CTS pot tips, most guitar stores have N.F.Idea about electronics they just take the sales reps. jargon as gospel.
Even Tandy and other electronic stores do a really good "blank" look, in Melbourne we have Radio Parts and if you ask the right question you get the right answer! Don't know if Sydney has a similar store but Jacksons Rare Guitars (www.jacksonsrareguitars.com) is setting up an on line store so try them. Actually drop in have a play on some choice guitars, the ones you would have to sell all your relatives into white slavery for.
Hope Dodger can come down for the Frankston Guitar Festival, I'm there on the Saturday. Easy to spot, look like Eric The Viking and wearing a House of Guitars T-shirt.
