Im thinking of putting one of these in the bridge position of my strat

Im looking for a fairly beefy sound in the bridge

those of you that use or have used these in the bridge what do you guys think?

I have one in the neck postion on my strat with the VHPaf in the bridge. I personally like it. It seems a little dark which could be the result of using a 250k volume with it. But for what I use the neck pickup for (lead work 99.99% of the time), it works fine. Never heard it or tried it in the bridge.

I'd try the Fast Track 2 in the bridge if you want a beefy sound. The Pro Track is cool if you're mixing with vintage style singles, but the Fast Track 2 is way beefier if hotter.

I don't think the Pro Track sounds much different from the FT1. I've used almost all of their rails pickups and I like most of them but that one just doesn't stand out to me.

Overall, the FT1. It's a little hotter than a Strat pickup but not too hot, and preserves a lot of the single-coil tone. Like a Barden without the icepick.

The Cruisers are probably the best side-by-sides I've ever heard at emulating a standard single coil.

The Chopper is a little hotter and loses some of the Strat quality, doesn't do much for me.

The FT2 is SUPER hot, a great bridge pickup if you want only a smidge of Strat tone. I also used one of these in the neck for a while in a Charvel 3DR, with a Super 3 in the bridge.

The Pro Track is supposed to sound like a PAF but to me none of these sound much like full-size humbuckers at all. I haven't used the new ones, the Tone Zone/Super D versions.

I really like the Multibucker, stock they are a FT1 and a Chopper on one base plate. I have a guitar with two of these, one stock and one with a Cruiser bridge/FT1 pairing. Very versatile.

Which sounded the best for Doing Hard Rock/Classic Rock?

Judging by your evaluation the FT2, FT1 were?

Mind you Ill have Area '58's in the mid and neck so Id need them to match up pretty well, the FT2 would be abit hot wouldnt it?

Well, if it's humbucker classic rock, I'd say yeah. If it's single-coil classic rock, I'd say FT1 (assuming we're talking bridge here). The Chopper could be thought of as a compromise between the two but to me it doesn't work as well in practice as in theory.

But like I said I haven't tried the TZ/SD models they have now.

Im pretty interested in hearing what the Super Distortion S sounds like, there are no reviews on Harmony Central at all.

So the FT2 was a good humbucker sound? it seemed pretty HOT IMO in the 300's, the reason I was attracted to the Pro Track was because it was meant to sound PAF-y but I guess it doesnt

If you've got the area 58's then the FT2 might be pretty hot for those. And you don't have to split it to single when combining with the middle pickup, because you don't have to cancel hum. So for that reason, maybe the Pro Track could be the solution. The FT1 is too icy for the bridge position, like AdmiralB said, fine for single coil classic rock tones, but lousy for humbucker tones.
Super D/S is probably a cool picukp, but not right for this guitar either. It's too hot like the FT2 and TZ2. The Chopper on paper looks like it could be good, too, but I remember those being lackluster like AdmiralB said. If you're going that ouput level, you might as well step it up a little to the Pro Track.

Yeah Pro Track seems to be the best choice so far, :banana:

Is there a big volume difference between thoise pups? (58's and PT)

I have a tone zone s in a strat and I think its pretty impressive. I sounds to me a little more like an Airzone than a tonezone. It has great lower mids and a big sound from a little bucker (will make you look at your guitar to make sure that it isn't a full size bucker.). For me, the tonezone s is the hottest rail bucker I will probably play. It is wound at 12k which is just under the Super D and just a smidge over the Fred/Norton.

I just put a pro track in bridge position of one of my strat, ash body with maple neck, paired with SSL1s, wow, apart the fact it's out of phase in pos 2 (and that's strange, normally is the red to hot green to ground the out of phase comb mixing DMZ and SD) it's a very nice PAF sound , with a level absolutely manageble with singles, it's a winner combination.

(I was in the urge of telling to someone)

I've always been curious about this pickup myself. Is it kinda like the Strat-sized version of the PAF Pro? I like the PAF Pro, personally. Especilaly in the bridge position.

Flip the leads around and you’ll be fine. You’re thinking Fenders with DiMarzio or Duncan. DiMarzio and Duncan are in phase with each other. I’ve never had a problem. I did put a Pro Track in my classic vibe 60s Strat with the stock middle and neck pickups. I did reverse the hot and ground wires to keep it in phase with them. Great balance with them and I have to say it is the perfect match and what I was looking for.

I kept the stock pickup in there for several years. I wanted a little more beef, so I even added a Fralin base plate to it, which helped and gave me a little bit more punch. I worked with it that way for a little bit, but decided I really needed a little bit more in the bridge and decided to go with a single-coil size humbucker. After much research, the Pro Track is what I chose as well. Glad I did.
 
I have a paf pro in box, given to me by a friend (it had an interrupted coil, I fix it short cutting some turns, I lost a 150 ohm but it conducts now), never found a guitar to try it so at the moment I can't compare it.
Anyway this has a bass slightly rolled off, mids pronounced but not overwhelming, treble rounded, imagine an A2 but with the upper mid forward
