O.k.,
wiring up for a friend.
MIM Fender Telecaster.. installing Area 61 tele neck and Tone Zone tele at the bridge.
ditching the tone knob and the std. 3 way switch in favor of a single vol and a 3 way Les Paul style toggle.. on custom control plate.
I've wired as the instructions said, also checked some of the SD diagrams as they have been extremely helpful in past wiring jobs.
Neck and Bridge are both 4 conductor. and both blk and white wires from each pickup have been soldered and taped as per instructions.
Both pickups green and bare wires have been soldered to a ground tab in each pickup cavity screwed into the wood, with a blk wire carrying the ground into the control cavity and soldered to the back of the vol. pot.
Each pickups red (hot) wire is soldered to each respective leg of to 3 way toggle ( upper and lower terminal )
The output from the 3 way switch is soldered to the back of the vol. pot.
and the ground on the front side of the switch is soldered to the outside post on the pot....
One post on the pot is soldered down to the back of the pot (grounded) and the other is soldered to the output jack (the white wire from the jack)
The black wire from the output jack is soldered to the back of the pot.
there is another ground tab in the control cavity that is also soldered to the back of the pot.
I get nothing from either pickup.....i went back just as the orig. wiring came off save for eliminating the tone knob and the std. tele 3 way switch..
ANY IDEAS??????????? Please make me feel like a dummy and tell me it is something stupid that i've overlooked or done wrong....
I've installled several Seymour's in various guitars...(strats, PRS,)
These are my first DiMarzio's......
