All the "PAF" based pups I liked from DiMarzio they no longer make... lol. :crying: I still have several VHPAFs in the drawer and at least one guitar that has Virtual PAFs in it. Both of those pups were dropped in favor of the 36th PAF. I think DiMarzio is down to like three humbuckers I really like anymore.

I pretty much agree. The Bluesbucker and the EJ Custom are my favorites of theirs...and neither are supposed to sound like regular humbuckers.
However, I LOVE their single coils. I just finished a Strat that goes Red Velvet, True Velvet, SDS-1 (neck to bridge), and I think it is the best sounding non-vintage-style Strat I've ever put together. All three of those pickups are all stars in my eyes.

They built my Dean Z Pro under contract. It's a great guitar (though the pots were crap by the time I got it). When did they go under?
