Has anyone used this is the bridge position? I want something to balance well with a Gibson minihumbucker in the neck position. BTW, do you use this with a 250 or 500 pot? Thanks!

500K pots for the volume, and a 1 meg ohm pot works great for the tone control with them... I have one stashed somewhere I'm going to use in an S/H guitar in the neck position just to see how it matches up with a full-sized humbucker in the bridge soon...

The Heavy Blues II is my favorite Dimarzio stacked single. I've only used the Heavy Blues in middle and neck, but I've used the Heavy Blues II in both positions. It's a little warmer and less harsh than the Virtual Solo, and about the same output so it's a great pickup for just about any kind of music. It has a really unique sound and probably rivaled only by the Injector which is also a great pickup. No other pickup that anyone makes will sound like the Heavy Blues. You get plenty of low end, lots of mids, and smooth treble end, and you get the harmonics Dimarzio is known for. I suggest you try one.

I'll vouch for that. ^

Got the VVHBII in the middle in a mahog superstrat. Love it.

in the neck of my HSS Virtuoso, great pickup and blends really well with area 67 in the middle. just a big fat strat tone. great for soloing and chord work... killer tone.

I have one in the neck position of an alder superstrat. 500k for sure. I don't believe it will be peaky enough with 250k.

So, you think it would balance well with an old Gibson mini in the neck position (which is using a 500k)? How does it compare to the SD stacked Strat pups? Is it close in tone and output to any of those?

Just wanted to say thanks to my tone bros for their advice on the Strat bridge thing. You guys ROCK! Do what you do with terminal intensity. And, don't let some chick talk you out of it. The h*ll with that. Like Jimi said, "I still got my guitar..."
