Dimebucker INFO NEEDED

Hey everyone,

A friend of mine was poking around his dimebucker and he managed to break one of the bobbins... I'm fixing this for hima but i was wondering if anyone here knows what gauge wire this use? I'm guessing a 43 awg but maybe it's 44awg.

Any info kindly appreciated.

Thanks
Jack

Re: Dimebucker INFO NEEDED

You are going to find it difficult to remove because they are epoxied in. Honestly it would be way easier to just get a used one because if by chance you can get it apart, it will never sound the same whether you wind one or both bobbins. It would probably also not be cost effective to send it in to have it repaired vs the cost of a used one.
Unfortunately that design is one that doesnt really allow for magnet swaps either, which really hurts its potential user base, because what you get is what you get.

This must be a different Dimebucker you're talking about... The one I'm looking at is not epoxied. I've managed to take the bobbins out and see the damage to one of them. I have the means to wind pickups so i will rewire this myself just thought that on a Seymour Duncan forum, someone would know what gauge wire is used but .... don't look like it. Guess I'll have to measure the wire the old fashion way

Thanks everyone

If its not epoxied, are you sure its not a Bill and Becky (a.k.a. Bill Lawrence. a.k.a. Wilde Pickups) L500XL?
