Okay Guys, I've decided to install a dimebucker at the bridgeposition of my Gibson Explorer to get the ultimate trash-death tone out of my Herbert! Now anyone has experience or an advice whats a good combination with the dimebucker at neck? I'm usin the neck pickup just for leads and soloing, not rythm. I want a compressed singing and screaming sweet tone at high gain settings, sustainful and strong. The original Gibson 498 sometimes sounds a bit woofy to me...
I know Dimebag used a '59 at neck, but I'm not sure wether I should combine the Dimebucker with an Alnico5 at neck. I don't want two totally different sounds, I just want the typical neck and bridge charakteristic to make the difference, but similar homogenic pickup sound.
Anyone ever tryed a Dimebucker at neck? I wonder wether this would be a good idea, but might be too much bass and too loud compared to the bridge Dimebucker...
Thanks for help!
