Cowboy Dan!?

i ordered a epiphone g-310 and i was going to put a jb/jazz combo in it. but i was wondering how a dimebucker would be in it. i will mostly be playing all sorts of rock n roll, from the beatles to black sabbath. which one would you recomend?

Re: dimebucker or jb?

the dime is a monster so unles your playing mostly metal then i would stay with the jb or why not try a Duncan Distortion that pup is very nice and retains clarity. my brother is in a band and he uses this pup and they play sab,zep ccr and that sort of stuff. he plays some beatles and i have him on the phone and he said he never uses his bridge pup for that type of tone just neck for beatles and all the rest he uses the distortion he says he can find the tone by rolling his tone/volume knob back and forth he swears by the distortion.

myself i am in a metal band [nu metal, slipknotish] and i use an invader, but i am looking into the emg 81 active for a new guitar.

best of luck

Re: dimebucker or jb?

I've owned both and still own a couple JB's. Does that tell you anything?

The JB sits in the mix so well on so many recordings I've done that I just keep coming back to it. It has a punchy, big open sound I really dig. The Dime just didn't have enough mids for me and wasn't as harmonically rich to my ears so I sold the guitar it was in and haven't looked back.

Re: dimebucker or jb?

Sounds like you need a JB, but never rule out the Custom.
