Dimensions for universal pup routing?

Well-known member
Warmouth and others offer universal pup cavities and I'm looking for dimensions that will cover humbucker, single, minihums, filteron, Rick higain and p90s.

Seems like Max values would be following, but would appreciate a double check-

L 3.4 P90 is max

W 1.4 humbucker is max

D 1.1 humbucker is max

Depending on whether you want a top route or bottom route, I'd just get a swimming pool route.

Thanks Christopher, normally I would go your direction, but I should have provided more detail- I'm modifying a thinline guitar to test pups with multiple pickguards.

Because it's already semi-thin, I don't want to remove too much wood.

In that case, your numbers seem about right. I haven't looked at them side by side, but I think a Jazzmaster pickup might be longer than a P90 and a Wide Range Humbucker is definitely wider than a humbucker.

But you didn't list those, so I think your numbers are good.

So new universal dimensions that include Jazzmaster

L 3.62 Jazzmaster
W 1.97 Jazzmaster
D 1.1 humbucker
