Direct Recording Amps

I'm interested in recording direct along with recording through the speaker and I came across a few amps

I've been looking at the Roland Cube 30 and I noticed it had a line out. Does anyone know if it will need a speaker sim if I am hooking it up to a mixer? Same for the Tech 21 Trademark 30?

Thanks,
Eric

Re: Direct Recording Amps

I've never recorded using a Cube, but I have gone direct to the console at a gig once. Lets just say that I unplugged the amp and ran my guitar direct instead.

Re: Direct Recording Amps

Can anyone comment on the Tech 21 Trademark 30? It was built for direct recording.....
Is the Trademark noisy when recording direct?

Thanks,
Eric

Quick bump before bed.

I've herd some pretty positive reviews about the Trademark 60. Any of that translate over into the 30?

Thanks,
Eric

some of the better sounds I've heard from local studios was done with a POD.

The POD's don't interest me. To much stuff I will never use and I need a regular amp as well.
