Does Seymour Duncan offer a pickup comparable to the Gibson Dirty Finger pu? I'm looking for a creme colored, coil tappable pickup. Thanks

Re: dirty finger pickups

Tonewise I think you would be better off with a Super D if you want something similar to the dirty fingers, An invader would be some what similar in the tone depot.....

Re: dirty finger pickups

The Dirty Fingers is a unique thing, and just freaking AWESOME IMO.

It's git the hair/fizz of a SuperDistortion. The Beef/Power of an Invader. The Thickness of an X2N (Maybe the closest thing overall?). It's definitely it's own thing and there is not a Duncan like it.

It is just dirty filthy hairy fizzy gritty hot awesome. Get a Dirty Fingers.

Re: dirty finger pickups

I love the original Dirty Fingers, but can´t really warm up to the reissues.

As far as a Duncan Dirty Fingers per se, the closest thing is an Invader modded to accept standard filister screws. The next closest would be to add the 2 additional "flanking" magnets to a Duncan Distortion.

Alternatively, the Duncan CS can wind you one. And they will. ;)

Re: dirty finger pickups

Thanks everyone. Maybe I should have explained what I'm trying to achieve. I have a 1979 Gibson CRR 335. It is all original including the pickups. From the factory, it came with 2 Dirty Finger pu's and a coil tap switch. As far as I know, it's the only year that this was done to a 335. Moving forward. I recently bought a Epiphone Pro 339 with a coil tap to Alnico pu's. I love the guitar, but the pu's are too "quacky" for my taste.

The 339 was bought to keep the 335 at home, more. Playing every week at various venues is stressful enough, and I was getting increasingly nervous having the 335 out and about, with plenty of thieves ready and willing, if you know what I mean. So...enter the 339. I'd love to configure the 339 the same way the 335 has been. I realize the age of the DF's can't be replicated, but I'm hoping there's a suitable replacement for the Alnico's. Thanks, wilywelch335

Re: dirty finger pickups

Try a Mighty Mite Motherbucker. The Motherbucker sits in between a Dimarzio Super Distortion and a Duncan Distortion.
