Disconnecting Tele neck pickup from tone control

How would I go about wiring my Tele such that the neck pickup is not controlled by the tone pot?

Thanks. =)

Re: Disconnecting Tele neck pickup from tone control

A tone control has two wires, or two connections. One is ground and the other goes to the volume pot, usually through a cap. Leave the ground where it is and disconnect the connection that goes to the volume pot. Move that connection to where the bridge pup hot wire connects to the 3-way switch.

Usually, on a Tele, the tone pot is connected to the volume pot through the capacitor. Unsolder one end of the cap, and then you'll probably have to solder a short jumper wire on to that end so that it will reach to the 3-way switch. Just solder it on to the 3-way at the same terminal that holds the bridge's hot wire.

Make sense? :)

why not just get a no load pot?

it'd only cost like $3 and give you way more versatility
